Background

Dr. Martin received her PhD from the University of Ottawa in 2014. Following her doctoral studies, she completed post-doctoral fellowships at the University of Minnesota’s Institute of Child Development and at York University’s Department of Psychology; she also worked briefly in the private sector, studying workplace experience and employee learning & development. Throughout her career, Dr. Martin has demonstrated excellence in teaching and student mentorship. She has received an award for Excellence in Teaching (2014) as well as an Early Career Award (2017) in recognition of her contributions to learning and mentorship. At York, Dr. Martin regularly participates in pedagogical methods training and practice in collaboration with the Teaching Commons, and is an active member of York’s Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL) community.
